The Battle Matrix

The Battle Matrix on each Encounter card outlines the Fight, Skill, and Charm a Hero must utilize from their hand or Battlemat to acquire that card from the Encounter Ring.

Looking at this matrix, a Hero would have to spend 3 Fight, 3 Skill, and 3 Charm worth of cards from their hand, or a total value of 18 of any combination of Fight, Skill, and Charm, to acquire this card.

Flourishing Strike, while effective even under normal circumstances, can be a devastating attack when performed perfectly.

BATTLE MATRIX: Each card on the Encounter ring first requires the use of various abilities to acquire it from the Dungeon. The yellow values in each of the three circles outline how much of each relevant ability must be spent from a player's hand to collect that card from the Encounter Ring.

BRUTE FORCE: The red value in the center triangle of the Battle Matrix gives an alternate means of acquiring the card: Brute Force. This value denotes the total value of any combination of Fight, Skill, and Charm the Hero may spend to acquire the card, instead of acquiring it the usual way. This method always requires more total resources.
